Breach of contract by sky
Can you advise if sky are exempt from Contract Law. I signed a contract which sky cancelled 4 hours later.

Did you fail the credit checks?

@Patmc1
As I stated, it's possible you may have failed the required credit check(s). Emails confirming or cancelling the order sometimes arrive out of sequence. See this link for Skys guidance ~
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/credit-checks-sky-mobile
Be aware that if you keep trying to order the device this could further impact your credit score. If you contact Sky they would be able to confirm that’s the reason your order was cancelled but not why you failed the credit check in the first place as they are not allowed to view your credit record. You would have to sign up to a credit reference agency like Experian or Equifax, which would give you access to your credit record.
Any upfront payment you’ve made should be refunded after about 14 days but recent posts suggest it’s taking a bit longer in which case you’ll need to call Sky to chase it up.

I went through everything at 11 am. My credit report is clear. By 4pm they cancelled it. No sequence issue.

You'll need to call Sky to confirm the reason for the cancellation.

What did Sky tell you then? I still think you've failed the second (enhanced) credit check.

Re: Breach of contract by sky
Just said cancelled by phone supplier and not Sky sales. Emailed them but no reply. Am in Ireland btw. I know my credit history and there are no issues. Regardless of anything they should not issue a contract or take payments if there is problems. Will see how it plays out.

There is a clause stating that you cannot become a subscriber if they assess your credit is 'unsatisfactory'.

Re: Breach of contract by sky
Saw that but as I said I received confirmation verball by email and then signed a contract. No credit issues. If I had not paid them and signed a contract and cancelled my previous provider I would let it slide but as this has all been done and the cancellation was just an email with no explanation and CS were no help I dont think I will just accept it.

Re: Breach of contract by sky
I agree a reason should be given. (In terms of credit this doesn't have to be detailed)

You had no issues for the first credit check which is a soft one but the second deeper one is where you have failed it for some reason and nobody here will be able to say why this is.
