Hi, upon purchasing a device, do you have to activate the SIM card to get your first bill? And if I don't activate the SIM card will there be a penalty or does it get cancelled?
a follow up question to this, is the first bill, will it be the same price upon the agreement when buying, or will it be higher, and if so why?
As Sky is unlocked I'm using a separate network. I do not want to activate the SIM card for the handset.

Your first bill is normally about 10 days after you receive your device. The first bill is normally higher as it covers the first two months.

As I cannot edit it; I wanted to ask another question too.
if you just want the phone, (for example, I recently ordered the iPhone 16 pro max) is it compulsory to use the SIM card?

Hi @abbier2reeves if you don't activate the sim you won't be charged and after 31 days will drop off your account. You would then need to order a new one if you wanted a sky mobile sim.

As it covers the first 2 months, will that also be the sim and the phone? So both monthly payments in one?

No, you only pay the plan for activated SIMs.
