If they were more transparent about supply issues people wouldn't be as agitated I'm sure

I agree, but it works both ways with call takers.

They're getting paid, we've ordered a very expensive device which had a specific date provided when ordering.

Understandably people are going to be very frustrated. Lots of people booked half a day or a day off work. Lots told one thing and then told another.

I hate it when call takers don't seem to care or offer a token apology and don't seem to understand customers frustration - there should be bill credits issued or some other goodwill gesture offered at the very least and explanations for delays.

Sky are very poor at communication - they're happy to leave vague tracking information on the online tracker when customers want to know more when things don't happen.

Yes ofcourse call takers are people, but they're in customer service and being paid - it's their job to deal with frustrated customers occasionally. We're human too.

I will say I'd rather receive it on the 4th as I've checked Apple and its not delivering until the 13th to the 20th

Lots are showing simlair messages, it seems the only place you can actually get one today is anywhere you can buy it and pay up front the whole device.

I am personally swtiching from o2 and they are showing delays of 3 weeks.

Other providers are now listing restock of pro max. three are saying 8th of October, EE saying expect dispatch in 28 days - I think the popularity of the device has exceeded expectations- what I'm surprised about with sky is they didn't seem to anticipate any issues fulfilling the pre orders they took - surely they knew how much stock they would have ready to go for delivery in the 19th.

Re: Apple iPhone 17 range and iPhone Air available for pre-order on Sky Mobile

I live in Ireland and placed an order with Sky Ireland.

On September 12th at 2 PM, I ordered an iPhone 17 Pro Max Cosmic Orange 256 GB over the phone because the website was constantly giving errors. The operator took a very long time to process the order but assured me that the phone was in stock and would be delivered before Friday. Fine.

Wednesday came—complete silence. I called Sky, and every operator gave me a different story about what’s happening with my order. By now, I’ve heard at least 11 different versions of when my phone will actually arrive.

I called again today, and now they’re saying it will only be delivered next week. Honestly, it’s really disappointing. Last year, when I ordered with Vodafone, I got my phone on the very first day of launch without any issues.

And by the way, regarding the message “Order received / DPD awaiting parcel”—that doesn’t necessarily mean the order is being prepared for dispatch. I ordered new headphones from another store, and the same status was showing from the moment I placed the order, even though the store only handed over the parcel to DPD today.

It's the same every year always has been and I'd hazard a guess sky I more popular due to being able to get it sim free where as most other providers make you take out another sim

I don't know why anyone would expect it to be any different on release day even Apple stores themselves sell out near instantly

I've now had a message saying by 4th October 256 cosmic orange pro max, they're a complete joke at this point, earlier they said 26th September

Yup exactly the same for me, sold on the website it would be ON 19th September, purchased and now being told 4th October.

Assuming they deliver it on then, I think this is better than previous years but still complete joke.

Re: Apple iPhone 17 range and iPhone Air available for pre-order on Sky Mobile

I'm picking up a theme of delivery timescales based on colour choice, from what I have observed, Deep Blue is getting delivered today or soonest, Silver seems to be by the 26th and Orange is the longest by the 4th.

I might be wrong but, it seems colour popularityt and overall popularity is having an knock on effect for supply.

Re: Apple iPhone 17 range and iPhone Air available for pre-order on Sky Mobile

On the phone today after being promised delivery on the 19th (today) when preprders were released I've heard nothing. Spoke with them today after the previous delivery guarantee and theyve said 26th guaranteed. Then in my sky messages it says October 4th!!

human or nit this is incompetence and disgusting service!?

Re: Apple iPhone 17 range and iPhone Air available for pre-order on Sky Mobile

Sky need new comms people.

It's bad enough telling people the phone they were told was meant to be delivered today or next Friday is now delayed to 4th October (at the earliest), but it's even worse to do so without explaining why there's a delay in the first place or offering an apology or some kind of goodwill gesture.

I'm sure someone in customer service will eventually get around to reading these forum messages and will do absolutely nothing for all the affected customers.
