Tried to order 17 pro, having waited patiently for my turn in a queue 10,000+

Went through pages of agreements etc.

Entered credit card details, confirmed order... then the site hung... I waited & waited but nothing.

then it reverted back to the beginning so I'm a few thousand back in the queue again and have to wait my turn.

I'll buy my new phone elsewhere, I have better things to do than guess if Sky's site is going to graciously allow me to pay them money while repeatedly having to input my credit card details.

Frustrating but I've only lost my time, Sky have lost my order.

Bought I phone 17 pro

Hello,

I have recently bought the iPhone 17 pro.

I already have an iPhone 14 Pro which is already paid up - please confirm I will not be charged for this device anymore?

regards
megan

Hi @LB1969  if it's paid off you won't be charged. Look at your future bills to see. If you have a sim plan then that will continue unless you cancel it.

@LB1969  As fellow customers we can't confirm anything but if you have made all payments you shouldn't be charged anymore for the device

sim plans will continue to be charged unless physically cancelled

Went through the entire thing, accepted, got the emails... then had the order cancelled due to credit checks failing? Not to brag, but I have a 984 score on Experian, and absolutely no "areas to monitor" on my report! Utterly bizarre.

@Clarkey5
For a sim deal it’s just a soft credit check, for a device there’s also an enhanced check. See this link for Skys guidance ~

Be aware that if you keep trying to order the device this could further impact your credit score. If you contact Sky they would be able to confirm that’s the reason your order was cancelled but not why you failed the credit check in the first place as they are not allowed to view your credit record.

Any upfront payment you’ve made should be refunded after about 14 days but recent posts suggest it’s taking a bit longer in which case you’ll need to call Sky to chase it up.

There is more to a credit check than your score.  https://www.sky.com/help/articles/credit-checks-sky-mobile

I'm aware, just there's absolutely nothing that I can see that would impact things. I have multiple other accounts: TV & broadband with Sky, as well as two other mobile phone contracts. I've never been rejected for any credit before. Very odd.

Yeah, can sometimes be odd and they may not tell you the reason.  Can be some sort of mismatch of address.

Very strange, but no bother. I'll order directly through Apple if necessary.
