Andorra Date

Hi,

My son is currently in Andorra and he is struggling to use his data when not connected to a WiFi ? 
I've increased his cap spend and given him additional data, but the issue seems to be still present? Is there anything additional I can do to allow him to use his data more efficiently?

Andorra is a 'rest of world' tariff.

£2.16 per MEGAbyte.  I'd use WiFi...

You can't use your data allowance nor 'give more data'.

Has you tried seeing if his device will connect to another local network to see if it will then allow him to use mobile data ?

No, what he needs to do is to get his device to search for all available networks to see if it will connect to another one.

Also he needs to make sure it is set to abroad:

Apple:
Settings > Mobile Data > SIM Applications > Change to Abroad

Android:
Sky Menu App or SIM toolkit > Roaming > Change to Abroad

Also as well as mobile data being turned on via the settings, roaming also needs to be turned on.

Really important to remember that Andorra is an anomaly in many ways. Note what @PandJ2020 advises: cellular data from an Andorra Telecom mobile signal would be spectacularly expensive (more than £2 per megabyte) to use with a Sky SIM.

At that rate, even minimal internet use will rack up a bill of hundreds of pounds rather rapidly, and just receiving a voice call is charged at £1.80 per minute.

By contrast, attaching to a French or Spanish network (where possible) would be covered by £2 per day data roaming with access to a UK data, text and calling allowance.
