Part of the check is based on existing commitments (an 'affordability' rating): the more you've already borrowed the less likely you may  be in succeeding with additional concurrent applications for credit.

The fact you have already purchased something via Sky doesn't come into it.

 

If you have failed the credit check then this will be something you need to look into yourself. You could sign up on a free months trial at somewhere like Experian which will give you access to your credit record. If you do this remember to cancel before the free month finishes.

And in addition to the above any upfront payment you’ve made should hopefully be refunded after about 14 days.
