How are you setting this up for calls, with a physical sim from Sky or an esim ?

If you haven't already you will either need a physical sim or an esim so what you order from Sky is up to you.

The iPhone 16 pro can only use an eSIM I assumed one was supplied with the phone

The iphone 16 in the UK can take a physical sim and esim and no it doesn't come with an esim as this is something you will need to order yourself by selecting a data plan for it from here:

Hi @JB771  you either need an eSIM with a data plan attached or a physical sim with a plan for your phone to operate correctly and yes you need a sim to make calls.

Phones do not complete with a SIM 'installed' (or activated).

 

It's a pro-active step you need to make, either:

1. Activate a physical SIM and insert it.

2. Activate an eSIM and install it.

 

(There will be a dataplan cost for either)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

I did fit a physical SIM and everything fell into place - calls working OK. Thanks for your reply.
