Adding new Phone and cancelling old but keeping Piggy Bank
Hi. I am a Sky customer and my partner is too. Asking for her. She has an iPhone 12 mini. She wants an iPhone 14 Plus / 15. She only wants to pay around £20 a month. She has 100GB in her Piggy Bank. I think she should, if possible, and I am hoping someone can advise me here - order the new phone on her account (not as an upgrade) with a free 100MB data plan. Then pay off her other phone, there is around £100 to pay. My question is, can she then cancel her existing 6GB data plan and just use the 100GB in the Piggy Bank as her data, as she only uses around 3GB a month?? Thanks

In short, yes.
However, the 'free' SIM (if this is available) will be a new phone number. SIM's can only be cancelled after 12 months.
As long as there's an active plan on the account then the piggybank will be maintained. (It is only lost when the last SIM on the account is cancelled)
if there is a desire to keep the phone number then it would have to be transferred out of the network and back in again.
I don't believe there's a restriction in having just the 'free' SIM on the account - it's not intended to be the only SIM though. See what others say.
