3 iPhones delivered and sent back within 3 days last week.

I've 🚫 w received 3 iPhones which I dislike anyway and they have been taken in by my family but I sent them back with the driver as I have no knowledge of these.. I'm on SIM only and need to keep it this way? Haven't heard anything for a week now.

No need for a new thread. You were advised about this months ago after your first post. Did you contact Sky as suggested?

You've been scammed and it sounds like the scammers now have the iPhones because you have sent the phones to them.

Are you saying you haven't ordered these devices? If so it sounds like you've been tye victim of a scam.

If this is the case you've unwittingly provided sufficient information for them recently.

They try to obtain sufficient details so that they can order an expensive mobile phone under your details which subsequently gets sent to your address. The scammers then recontact you saying they've made a mistake and to send it to a (non Sky) address. They then have the device and you have the bill.

You need to call Sky as soon as the lines open.

Was this at the same time as delivery or later?

The criminals can only monetise their scam by getting hold of the hardware, so they will do everything they can, including impersonating Sky and booking their own doorstep pick-up.  Hopefully you refused the original delivery and had that acknowledged at the time.

Why have I been charged for no reason

I have a sky package TV package only and since I cancelled my SIM only plan which I think was only 5 pound a month about 4 months ago they are asking for almost 4 thousand pound for 3 iPhones which I wasn't even eligible for and never even took these. I still have the TV plan but getting letters about these iPhones that have nothing to do with me.

Re: 3 iPhones delivered and sent back within 3 days last week.

  • I used to work for Vodafone for many many years and heard about these scams when they give a different return address but I didn't even receive anything to my address to even send if I was that silly to do so. Not once did any phone ever came or never did I even order a phone. It's mad how this only happened after I cancelled my SIM only contract with them. There are no pics of these phones being delivered by a courier and I had no confirmation as they would send this on my email address for sure. Nothing at all. Just been sent a massive bill from a collection agency on Thier behalf for full payment. I love sky and was about to start with broadband and landline also but it's making think twice.

  • Oh sorry by the way yes I spoke to sky they keep saying the phones were delivered with no plan just the phones but they can't find the proof from DPD....for all three of them??! Then now they sent it to some debt collection people. They are no help. It's kind of worrying.

@Manni

In your first post in July you said a family member took delivery of the package and you later said you gave them to a 'driver'. The scammers probably arranged that.

(Post edited as posts crossed)

Now a debt collection agency are involved you'll need to deal with them (not Sky) as Sky have passed the debt to this firm.

Re: 3 iPhones delivered and sent back within 3 days last week.

Thankyou so much for your help..somewhere down the line I have been done over.  I will speak to the debt people.  You are correct that it was my dad that took the parcels in as I work abroad alot and after a while when there were three I have the actual email which I just found that they were collected from DPD and I got an email from sky to say thankyou for booking them in and they received them. Took me a while so these emails will help. I have the email from sky to say they had been returned altogether. I need to get this sorted. I'll ring the collection agency first thing with these emails as attachments. Thanks again.
