Did you manage to resolve this? I get this exact same issue. Spoke with sky yesterday who told me they are 'working on a resolution' for the next update. Managed to get skygo to work by checking the 'hide x64 emulation capability (x86 apps only) box in the compatibility>change emulation settings menu. But the spinning wheel and dark screen over live TV persists. I've tried every work around I can find on here or can think of with no joy.

I am having the exact same issue plus bar at the base with options now stays all the time - on my previous laptop this would disappear if I put the cursor on the picture.

Re: sky go app has spinning circle while im watching live tv

As of the 21st March 2025 I  still get problem but:

- occasionally it will work ok for a whole session but I must stick with that say football match.

- if I come out it or attempt to switch channel it just loops or generally becomes unusable so a reboot is necessary (this suggests for what it's worth that memory has become corrupted)

- then on reboot and skgo restart it then does it's check for new updates which takes a pathetically long time surely one lookup to see it's latest release# and on we go but no takes it 2 or 3 minutes. Not good.

So, still awaiting a magical new all solving release. Just some normal release will fluke the solution I suspect .

Re: sky go app has spinning circle while im watching live tv

I am receiving the same problem, spinning circle and a greyed-out screen/overlay, you can't control the volume, and if you need to enter your pin number (parental controls) then the input screen is unresponsive.  It seems as though there's a disconnect between the app and user input.  The frustrating thing is that I use this app on other devices and it works fine, furthermore I'm reasonably PC-literate and have tried a multitude of 'fixes' supplied by the Internet none of which have worked.  The machine I have the problem with is reasonably current Windows 11 Home using an AMD 3400G CPU&GPU on an MSI B450 motherboard.  Like other people reporting this error, it's been happening for several months, and when new updates are released I expect my issue to be resolved, but no such luck!  Come on Sky!

Re: sky go app has spinning circle while im watching live tv

Hi,

I have the same problem on my Asus vivobook OLED
It's because Sky Go does not use a Browser but DRM and ELECTRON for the UI.
These conflict with your graghics card.
I have a workaround to stop the grey overlay & buffering circle but not for the corrupt UI ( volume takes 15 secs )
System>Display>Graphics>Add an app.
Add Sky Go then change GPU prefernces to Power Saving.
Worked on my Intel(R) UHD Graphics.
After streaming the home menu freezes so have to exit for another channel.
Real pain but at least I can watch TV.

Re: sky go app has spinning circle while im watching live tv

Good news.
I noticed an option to update to Beta versio 25.4.1 which I accepted.
After installing my Sky GO works perfectly and is MUCH more resposive.
Happy bunny
Thanks Sky Go team.

Re: sky go app has spinning circle while im watching live tv

Thanks for that.  Did the same...found the option in Settings - updates within the App, to join the beta.  Tried it out and it solves all the issues.  No spinning circle, no issues when going full screen.  All good.
