Why can’t I send a UHD download request via App

I prefer the limited luxury of downloading and playback in UHD & UHD HDR because of the current ad free nature of the version of TV show. 

why can't I go into the App and send a UHD recording like I can an SD or HD. 

I'd actually prefer it if it would stop giving me the SD option as it's sometimes at the top and sometimes the 2nd option but it's never consistent even in a list of programmes in a series/season. 

The Sky Go app needs some improvement.

I'd like my favourites on there too. But then again I'd like my favourites on all boxes, but to list 63 channels would be a relative nightmare!!!!

some personalisation would be great but I realise it won't ever happen.

Apparently because Sky made a design choice not to permit recording requests to be sent from devices which cannot then be used for playback viewing: it's the same for Mini boxes.

I agree. I too would like that facility too. It must be easy for Sky to enable this on the app and the mini boxes too. On the app they must be able to provide a message similar to BBC programmes that you cannot watch via the app.

It's been requested since 2016 and never happened: whether it's 'easy' or not doesn't seem to apply.

I would really like this to work

I'm away from home quite a bit and find series record very hit and miss

The TV guide is only a week ahead 

It seems a poor choice not to be able to set the sky box to record UHD from the Sky Go app

Late to the party but I whole heartedly agree. I don't want anything on the sky go app. I use it to check the catalogue and want to be able to set my box to download in UHD as a present to myself for when I get home. 

I understand the app itself doesn't support 4K etc but I can't comprehend why they don't recognise people using the app in this way
