I am afraid your thinking is incorrect
The different wifi bands are still on the same network, as other devices connected via ethernet are.
Of course there can be situations where people do have more than one network which will cause problems (for example we read of some customers who install a second router in an outbuilding etc) but this is different.

Okay, I seem to have found a solution to my own personal circumstances in that I find that my Sky Q box is linked to my EE Wi-Fi plus (effectively a Range extender) rather than my main router.
Even though it is about as far away from the range extender as it could be in the house.
When I get my iPhone to link to the same range extender by moving to the other side of the house, I get my recordings.....
Must be some logic there somewhere?

I fixed mine! I read in the FAQs that the Sky Go app isnt compatible with vpns. I disconnected my Nord VPN and hey presto! My recordings are back on my phone.

good afternoon
i checked it my i phone updates and sky go updates to check if my needed phone needed an update and everything up to date and nit using a vpn so still cant watch my recordings from my iphone, but if iam using my android tablet it works ok, so i wonder if it might be an ios problem, just a thought.

just tried that and my wifi on on my iphone is on the wifi and so is all the sky q boxes, 3 mini ones and one 2 tb one

Have multiroom subscription:
iPad settings > Sky Go > turn on Local Area Network
