I have bought a new MacBook Air running on Sonoma 14.4. I cannot install Sky Go. The Installer downloads but the app does not and I get a message saying 'address not recognised'. Sky Tech support seem to be unaware of the problem (surely not?) and make increasingly bizarre suggestions about why my new Macbook is unsuitable for the app. (There are of course no system requirements specified in the download instructions). Can anyone help with this problem? I had a Macbook before and always watched Sky Go on it but had to replace it. If I can't solve this I am going to cancel my TV package which renews soon, I am not going to pay for something I cannot watch.

The most likely issue is Apple now using its own silicon in laptops rather than Intel chips, thus necessitating emulation where applications aren't running native code.

Thank you for your reply and for identifying the problem. But what, if anything, can I do to solve the problem and install the app? hope you can advise

Sky Com says about Sky Go: Watch TV on any device. This is just not true as I still cannot install it on my new MacBook. Sky Technical support unable to help
