The Sky Kids app says it will be decommissioned on the 10th of June and to use the Sky Go app.
I do not understand why this decision was made as there is no kids profile settings in the Sky Go app meaning a child can very easily click on something that is not age appropriate, especially given the home screen cannot be changed.
In addition there are adverts on Sky Go which can take you to websites outside of the app.
Does anyone have any further information on this?

What more information do you want as all we know is what you have posted in that the kids app is closing on the date you have posted.

There are certain parental controls you can be set up
Please review https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-go-parental-settings
Please also note : Restrictions can’t be applied to live TV on Sky Go unless a show has an age certification. Some programmes also have a mandatory PIN that you won’t be able to disable due to adult content.

Will the sky go app be upgraded to have a kids profile similar to netflix/disney/prime?
Are there any restrictions that can be added to the app?
Is there a way for only the kids programs to only have adverts that are linked to the video in the same way that they are in the sky kids app?

No idea as Sky haven't announced any plans along those lines.

See the post above by @Neel+Morjaria
You can also set a pin for selected content. If it is not connected to a Sky Q box then the Sky Go pin can be set here:

That isn't something us customers have any say on.

I have just seen this on our kindle app & totally agree with you. I am really annoyed and disappointed.
With Sky Kids it is easy to navigate for my children to use.

Just came here to say how disapointed i am by this decision. Not only is this a huge reason for paying the kids sub, its also super safe for little ones. Using the sky go app is not a reasonable alternative, offers an unfriendly UI for kids, no profiles and no support on older ipads.
hugely disappointed by this decision.

Absolutely ridiculous that they are getting rid of the Sky kids app.
No point downloading sky go on their tablets because you cannot oversee the parental control.
Sky seriously need to rethink this poor decision.

That's unlikely: there would have been agreement at senior management level (or potentially even up at Comcast) for such a closure, probably on financial grounds.

Where do all the games go as well 🤯 my little one is gutted

Totally agree with comments here as SKY GO is not fit for kids currently.
Terrible idea to shutdown the kids app without a suitable replacement that offers the same settings.

Hello, sorry to say your kid is gutted by the closure of the Sky Kids app. The following games on the Sky Kids app will be playable on my Sky Glass TV:

But can any of these be accessed on Sky Go
or other apps so they can be used on devices?

Sorry, Sky Go can only do video content as far as I know, sorry.

This is ridiculous. My children love the app they can pick what they want, when they want it. Now they have to download and wait. Oh and adverts!
