No but it does show multi screen
which I have recently cancelled
however I was told I would still be able to veiw on Xbox series X with VIP

And you also get it free via Multiscreen so I think the best thing here to do is to give Sky a call so they can look into the best way to get it added back to your account.

I've got the same issue - after the app has updated getting the same error message. I'm a VIP member with Sky Go. I spoke with Sky earlier who was good and helpful looking into it, but ultimately it ended with saying 'it's strange' and it should be working. I've tried deleting and redownloading the app.
I would appreciate Sky looking into this and providing a solution/ answer asap.

@caesarome Thank you for the quick reply. I don't have multiscreen or Sky Go extra - BUT I was told several years ago the Sky Go app would work fine on games consoles with my current account and products. I've been using the Sky Go app on xbox for at least 5 years with no problems.
If it's the case that we know need to upgrade to multiscreen or Sky Go extra - that's pretty shocking as there has been no correspondence at all to state this. It's like a broadband provider suddenly turning off your internet and demanding you pay more to get it back.

Find out moreWhat you were told was wrong although I can understand why you were told is as it has always been a requirement that you needed either of those to use the app on a console but due to an issue with it this was not enforced meaning as you were you could use it without either of those in place on your account. Now with this latest version this is now being enforced hence this big topic and many other posts on here about it.

@caesarome ok I understand. But then isn't it right this should have been communicated to all Sky subscribers who use the app who don't have a multiscreen or Sky Go Extra? If I was told before ago a new update was coming out that would require an upgrade to keep using the same services - then at least I would have time to consider it. I've opted in to recieve communications and updates from Sky.
This now just seems like a odd and cheeky way to try and make a quick buck by exploiting the fact that more and more subscribers are using the app rather than the Sky box, and not a fair way to treat Sky Subscribers. The obvious loophole here is that Sky Go app is available still on PC/ Mac, so you can just use the app on there still play it through your tv.
Is the final answer for using the Sky Go app on Xbox or any other games console "you have to upgrade your subscription to Multiscreen/ Sky Go Extra/ Sky Glass whole home package"?

@caesarome also just to add - under my account settings where I can manage all my devices the Sky Go app is on - it displays my Xbox console. This suggests to me the Xbox console is a device on which I can access Sky Go, rather than Sky Go extra

Yes that is correct so give Sky a call as they will look into the best way to get Sky Go Extra added to your account which should then allow you access to the app on your console.
