I have the same problem. I have added the Sky Go app to a new laptop (its working ok on my ipad).
I can log in but it then says "Unavailable. Content currently unavailable, please try again later". I have uninstalled and reinstalled, I have restarted PC, I have turned ad blocker on and off - all to no avail. Following on from the post above, I have also checked that my postcode is correctly linked to my account. Can anyone help?

Same problem in Jan 2024 on Windows 10 desktop. Also gets stuck in update mode.
Reinstalled and followed suggestions to solve updating, but so far the app remains useless on my machine.

sky go is a joke. But the joke is on us, as we pay. Ridiculous! Pathetic product service. You should be ashamed sky.

I know it's a long time since you posted this but I've been having the exact same issue and your advice resolved it for me. If anyone else has this, try @doyley1094 's steps
