The problem started when I was away from home. I tried it on the WiFi and bouncing off my phone 4G, but neither worked.

We haven't been abroad, just away from home in Northumberland. The app opens fine. When I choose a channel to watch, it tries to open it, then tries again, going to the relevant page with the big arrow in the middle and I get the error message that something went wrong and the device needs to be authorised. On the ipad I have removed and reloaded the sky go app. I can access My Sky on the ipad, and the ipad is on the list of devices I can use, along with my android phone and my PC.

That has worked. Thanks so much for your help. Such an easy solution in the end. I'm surprised that didn't come up as a suggestion on any searches I did.
