I mean sky go ,is the main part of really having sky,where you can watch box sets or films anytime,so if you havnt got that whats the point of having sky,ive been with them for about 25 years now,so if they cant help me sort it out,then thats it i dont want sky,if they want to block my sky channels after what i said to them today,let them do it,i have other film apps on my smart tv,i dont have to rely on sky.

The person that said i was given details its up to me to follow them,i dont know how old you are,you might be young and technically minded,im nearly 70,i know a little bit about technical stuff,but i dont know everything,

After being with sky for around 25 years,theyve lost me has a customer,alot of people where i live used to be with sky have recently gone over to virgin,thats where im going next,this is all over sky go,the only way i can watch sky go is on my windows 10,but recently its stopped and crashes just has i sign in,i phoned up sky earlier told them im leaving over it,because they cant be bothered to help me fix it,ive just gave it one more go ,emptying the recycle bin,uninstalling sky go then reinstalling it again ,and again it still crashes ,there dont seem to be no answer for it.

Have you tried reinstalling Windows to eliminate that as the thing causing the issue, I know Windows breaks over time when I used to use it, I was reinstalling at lease once a year to fix various random issues

You should not lose everything as you could just revert to your backup, you do make backups don't you?

 

There are plenty of tutorials on the web and many step by steps on YouTube

Rolo im having this problem myself,ive tried to uninstall it and reinstall it a few times now,has soon has i try to sign in it crashes,3 times i phoned up sky about it,and yhey cant or dont want to bother to help me fix it,ive been with them for around 25 years now,i got so annoyed yesterday i phoned them and said there getting know more money out of me and finished with sky,because without sky go which on my windows ten was the only place i could watch it ,and it wont work now,but without sky go,sky is not worth the money

If you have VLC Media Player on your PC, you'll need to uninstall that. That's the only way I got Sky Go to work.

Final solution.

Has you know by my other posts,ive not been able to get sky go ,on my windows ten desktop,i finished with sky over it,but i phoned them for the 4th time this week this morning to ask to speak to an ombudsmen to put a complaint in any way the woman and sky said what is this about,so i told her,she said let me try and fix this for u sky go that is,she couldnt do it,so she said im going to transfer you to another department that will fix it from there end,so i had to wait about 5 minutes on the phone,then someone on thhe other department phoned ,i said ive been transferred to u,the person at the other department said u would be able to fix it from your end,so he said please do not take to much notice what some people at sky say,i thought your right there,i told him im actually finished with sky over this,so he said we really dont want to lose you has a customer,and we will compensate you for the past few weeks that youve not been able to get sky go,and will continue to do that until u do get it back and running,but lets try these few steps,well it made no diference still couldnt get it,he thinks the problem might be my firewall ,its not getting through,so he said to me,im going to send you a link in your e-mail where you can click on sky go,that by passes your firewall,it might take up to seven days to recieve it,when you do click on it,hopefully it will work

i dont even think it will work then,there so useless at sky,,u dont get problems with the other apps like u do with sky go.i will have to stick by to leaving sky.

The difficulty with computers is that they come in various variations. Different operating systems, different hardware, different drivers (the software that controls the hardware) and it all comes together to run your computer. 

 

The hardware within a Sky box, Sky Glass TV, Sky Puck etc remains the same and software can be tested on it before it's given to customers.  Sky are unable to test software on your exact computer setup, or that if many other customers which means occasionally software will not work. The fact it's crashing and Microsoft are stating it has a problem means the Sky software is unhappy about something.

 

My suggestions are;

  • Checking you have all of the mandatory Windows updates installed if not already
  • Temporarily, disabling any Anti Virus software if you run any - turn it back on after testing.
  • If you know how to, ensure you have the latest drivers for hardware (Google will have a lot of guides of checking these)

The fact your system or display seems to adjust the scale of the Windows UI suggests something else is interfering with Windows/Sky Go or similar.

 

Computers work most of the time, but occasionally certain circumstances mean something will go wrong. I appreciate your frustration, and you're blaming Sky for this. However, Sky Go for most customers works fine and you haven't negated something on your computer as being the contributing factor in this case. You say Sky subscription is pointless without Sky Go, however is Sky Go not a supplementry service to a routine Sky TV package you're using? 

 

It's entirely up to you, but if you're still facing issus and change your mind staying with Sky, it might be worth seeing if a computer professional or a friend/family member can assist you with some of these troubleshooting. Best of luck.

Ok thanks jason,see sky go is the main part of sky,because thats where you can watch sky films and box sets anytime,without that all i can watch is whats on in the daily listings.

ive just gone into my windows updates,and it says there that my system went over to another version of windows ten a couple of weeks ago ,would that have caused the problem,it does say because it was a couple of weeks i cant go back to the other version.
