Sky Go won't start with Nvidia graphics card enabled but runs OK if enabled after loading

I have a Dell M4800 laptop running Windows 10.

After years of scratching my head about getting Sky Go working on this machine I have finally figured out what is going on.

If I disable my second Nvidia graphics card Sky Go loads up OK. I can then re-enable the card (and consequently use my second screen) and everything works OK.

If I try to start Sky Go with the card enabled it crashes out on startup with no errors displayed or logged.

I have tried disabling the Nvidia card just for Sky Go, but this doesn't work.

I think there is a graphics card sniffer on startup which decides if you have a second screen or graphics card and it won't start if it detects something it doesn't like.

It would be helpful if the coders had at least put something in to say what the problem is.

Also, if I disconnect my second screen it works OK with the Nvidia card enabled, so it definitely looks like Sky Go doesn't like to see multiple displays (which sucks).

You've made an interesting discovery, but I'd observe that's a rather unusual laptop built specifically for CAD a decade ago, and is consequently somewhat unlikely to be in widespread use today.  Discreet dual GPU for portable computing has essentially been consigned to the history books by subsequent advances in silicon design.

I'd suggest it's not particularly realistic to hope that developers will fix an issue with hardware from ten years ago (which they presumably didn't spot at the time because it was rare even then)
