Now finally working on about the 10th attempt. Did the same round of deletions as previously but this time it worked,, so assume that Sky have finally updated the Go software to work on Sequoia. Did not need to mess around with 32 bit emulation etc, which in any case does not work in Sequoia, so guessing that Sky have properly updated Go to a fully functional 64 bit app.

I'm thinking it is a sequoia compatibility issue too. Exactly the same issue on my new MacBook Air M3 which is running Sequoia.
I wonder whether one of the Sky technicians can check this?

Guys, easy fix
I too have a new Mac and was a bit dumfounded while the installer kept running and then closing without actually installing Sky Go.
1) So, first right-click the installer and select 'Show Packag Contents'
2) Open up MacOS folder and launch the installer - this will open a terminal window where you can see the progress of the installer... note when it finishes you will see the message: "installer: This package requires Rosetta 2 to be installed. Please install Rosetta 2 and then try again."
3) Open new terminal window and ype (or copy paste) 'sudo softwareupdate --install-rosetta'
4) once this has installe, re-run the installer, but make sure you select 'Open usiong Rosetta' from the Info window of the installer before you launch.
Hope that helps - worked for me

Hi. Thanks for the reply.
I followed your steps.
The process completes sucessfully. I have no issues with missing components.
SkyGo still refuses to open when the icon is clicked.

Hi C
Not sure what to suggest mate - did you delete any existing application?
Are you sure, you are trying to open the right app now? Do a search in your finder for Sky Go... i've just noticed my 'App icon' doesnt display in the 'Applications' folder, its in my 'account' folder (users > XXXXXXX > Applications > Sky Go
