Sky Go error -PFE 9303 - it thinks I'm running video capture
I have this issue, again, stopping me from watching a program.
I've reviewed the SkyGo T's & C's (I'm a software engineer, not legal bod), can anyone point me to the section that states that the app interigates your system to asscertain what applications you're running, and then based on that decides if you can access the SkyGo app.
Thanks, Graham

Perhaps:
9.4 We may prevent the copying of any part of the Service.

Re: Sky Go error -PFE 9303 - it thinks I'm running video capture
Hi, thanks for the reply.
I would suggest that:
Whatever they are doing doesn't work properly, as false positives detecting capture software.
There are loads of ways to bypass this kind of attempt to prevent copying, so actually it's just annoying to people who aren't trying to copy / capture content
Sky should be much more specific in what their application does to "prevent the copying of any part of the Service.
i.e. AI returns this (although I don't necessarily trust AI) - if this is the case I think it should be specifically stated:
The Sky Go app scans for processes as part of its digital rights management (DRM) and anti-piracy measures to detect and block software that could be used for screen capture or video recording. This is a legitimate, albeit sometimes intrusive, feature to enforce licensing agreements with content providers.
Detection of Capture Software: The app looks for running applications known to be capable of capturing screen content or video streams. If such a process is detected, Sky Go may display an error message (e.g., error code PFE 9303) and terminate the stream or prevent playback.
Thanks again for your response.
Kind Regards

I'd imagine their lawyers have looked at this as part of their general oversight duties and just don't consider it's necessary to expand on the wording. Realistically Go has long been a rather neglected offshoot of the Sky portfolio (and even more so under Comcast ownership) : it's long overdue for replacement by something like the Xfinity app.

It does explain why some security software considers Sky Go to be a risk and blocks it
