Sky Go content blocked in Europe

I am an Irish (European) SkyQ and  Sky Go subscriber. My Sky Go content was blocked. I managed to contact the help centre and "the settings were adjusted and it worked again. A week later it went off. I got the call centre again. "So sorry, don't understand - settings adjusted" and it was back on. Four days later its gone again and my phone cannot connect me to the Irosh 0818 number.

I pay for the subscription. As a European I am entitled to portability, yet I am being denied what I pay for.

@SAILORJohn

How long have you been in Europe beacause at most it should only work for 30 days before you would need to use the app again in Ireland.

Re: Sky Go content blocked in Europe

I have been in an EU country for 16 days.

The SKY contract is very specific on availability: ‘Territory’ means the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Republic of Ireland

(as applicable) plus, for residents of the Republic of Ireland, the European Union where you are eligible for EU portability.

Re: Sky Go content blocked in Europe

My service has been cut off three times within 30 days.

Why is the service suspended after 30 days if "EU pprtability" is part of the contract? Or, in my case more frequently?

Because the relevant EU legislation which enables platform providers to widen their content distribution where not otherwise permitted by the rights owners specifies temporary  use.

This Regulation introduces a common approach in the Union to the cross-border portability of online content services, by ensuring that subscribers to portable online content services which are lawfully provided in their Member State of residence can access and use those services when temporarily present in a Member State other than their Member State of residence.

" when they are temporarily present in another Member State for purposes such as leisure, travel, business trips or learning mobility "

temporarily present in a Member State’ means being present in a Member State other than the Member State of residence for a limited period of time "
