Sky Go - Unable to watch anything, live, catch up or download

I recently changed phones to the new Pixel 9.

 

Is there an issue with using the app on this phone? I can install and open the app, sign in etc but if I try to watch something, either live or via catch up or download something it moves from the preparing screen to constantly sit at 0% on the load screen or fails to download. 

 

I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling and the device is authorised with the right settings but I just can't watch anything. This is the only streaming app I have this issue with. 

 

Any ideas anyone?

All you can do is to report this to the apps team at Sky to see if they have any suggestions, this is their email address - apps@sky.uk

I suppose you have tried disabling Wi-Fi on the phone, uninstalling the app, rebooting the phone then turning on Wi-Fi before installing the app again ?

Yep. This is the only streaming app I have a problem with.

 

I'm pretty tech savvy but this has got me stumped!
