Sky Go App for Windows 11 not working properly

On an ARM Win 11 laptop and I also changed the emulation settings back to default.

Works here, which it hasn't for a while.

I have enabled the beta version, but I still get sound but no picture until I open task manager and start killing Sky go sub-tasks, then picture appears. This has been around for over 6 months and I have reported it to Sky several times.

Sky is a multi-million pound streaming company and cannot get the app right for a large userbase for how long....doesn't bode well for customer retension.

The sky sports + service is also very poor (no recording/stream later) - so you can't watch every game...

I am glad I didn't take up the movies and stuck with other streamers as it would be even more channels I couldn't watch when on the move.  If we can't watch the channels where we want paying customers will go to platforms that can.

As to this junk app - starting in admin mode presents different options with cookie acceptance but crashes when user login is presented.

Maybe Sky should employ more that one person to in the s/w dev team?

Just found this thread after epxeriencing the similar issues as everyone else - SkyGo would run, but I was unable to resize or close the viewed window.

Fresh install of Windows 11 Pro 24H2 OS Build 26100.4652

Tried enabling Hyper-V - same issue
Tried installing Virtual Box - same issue
Tried enabling Beta version update - now working, but needed to reboot after installing (SkyGo showing version 25.4.1)

As a test:

I removed Virtual Box and rebooted - still working
Removed the Hyper-V feature and rebooted - still working

And another test:

I had another machine running the same version as above (fresh install of Windows 11 Pro 24H2 OS Build 26100.4652) and all I did was install SkyGo normally, login, enable/install the Beta version, reboot after the Beta install completed and it worked first time.

Many thanks to all the previous posts suggesting the various fixes, but for me simply installing the Beta version on Windows 11 Pro and rebooting has resolved the problems described.

Got a fix that seems to work

On the Sky Go executable, right click for properties.

Select the compatability tab

Locate the Windows on Arm section and select "Change Emulation Settings"

Select the check box for Hide x64 emulation capability (x86 apps only)

I also enable the check underneath - Show newer emulated CPU features; but it is now greyed out due to the abve?

Install usually should be possible. As far as I remember I logged into my Sky account (where I can view the bills online etc) and then there was the chance to download and then run it. Good luck.

I see there is still not a working fix for this, and Sky are just uninterested. I came back here to see if there was a fix as I've high-end laptop that goes with me on work trips, which I'd like to watch my paid-for subscriptions on, but still nothing. 

So I've already got a firestick that is loaded and I use when away now, but I've decided to get rid of my full package from Sky also, they can't even fix a simple app that I've been using since it came out and have now been without it for a couple of years due to their disregard for customers.
