It's likely that Microsofts x86 translation layer is the cause of the issues as I don't think Sky have a native ARM version of Sky Go for Windows

Re: Sky Go ARM version for new Qualcomm devices.

How do you get to the properties of the skygo app?

Re: Sky Go ARM version for new Qualcomm devices.

As per Jamrg's previous post:

"Right Click SkyGo.exe | Properties | Compatibility (tab) | Change Emulation Settings | Tick "Hide x64 Emulation Capability (x86 apps only)"

This only works partially, hopefully a version that that either works in X86 translation or a native ARM version will be forthcoming.

Re: Sky Go ARM version for new Qualcomm devices.

I have a ne Microsoft Surface Pro 11 and I tried many times to make it work following the advice of this thread but without success, it kept crashing when I was on the log in screen. Then, for some reasons, I thought to try running the app as an administrator and it dd work.

Running as Admin worked until a week ago, then it suddenly started crashing again. An autoupdate, perhaps.

Is there any more update on this?  I can't get the Sky Sports Desktop app to work and tried changing the emulation settings but still just crashes a few seconds after opening.

Re: Sky Go ARM version for new Qualcomm devices.

Just upgraded to a Windows 11 Microsoft Surface Pro 11 (ARM64) and tried the 'Default' and 'Safe emulation' modes + run as administrator but Sky Go always crashed after the cookie selection prompt - after a delay.

But when I changed to 'Strict execution', it loaded and ran without any problem, and responded well to keyboard & mouse input. So far...

Re: Sky Go ARM version for new Qualcomm devices.

Yeah, I just tried again with 'Strict execution' emulation and it's OK.

Re: Sky Go ARM version for new Qualcomm devices.

Thats is fine, AVX2 support was rolled out in that build so I was wondering if that would have made the difference but seems you would already have it on that build. My version of the Sky App is 25.4.2 , although I see there is a beta programme for the app so i am going to join that in the hope that maybe we get an arm version at some point  !

Re: Sky Go ARM version for new Qualcomm devices.

Beta version is 25.5.1 and is MUCH quicker on ARM.

Re: Sky Go ARM version for new Qualcomm devices.

Thanks for that tip - I hadn't noticed the beta programme.

Yes, I think you're right, the beta is much snappier - faster even than on my old non-ARM laptop.
