How do I set a recording in advance when I'm not at home?

Just discovered that the sky plus app is going to join the ever expanding list of upgrades that step backwards. Replacement of sky plus app with sky go app should provide everything that sky plus had at least. But with sky go I can't look at programming 5 days ahead and set a recording on the sky go app like I could on sky plus app so that is a giant backwards upgrade, or perhaps I should say downgrade!? So now, when I'm away from home, and I realise I've forgotten to record something, I have to arrange to be on my phone and logged in to the sky go app at exactly the point when the program is about to start in order to be able to record it. Does anyone think that this is an improvement?

OK so this didn't work. If I press over the channel title nothing happens and if I press the middle of the program tile it goes to show the live program. I've just uninstalled and reinstalled the app and now it works as you have advised. Thank you for your help with this.

@kpfsportsfan

I'm not quiet sure why you are saying you can't record more than 5 days in advance as you can do the same as you can with the Sky+ app so you need to either search for the program you would to set to record or if you know the date, channel and time it is on then use the TV Guide by going to the channel and changing the date to find the program.

can you tell me what i'm doing wrong? I go to TV Guide using the menu at the bottom of the app screen and I can only see the program that is currently showing on each channel - I can't find a grid view, I cant scroll forward on that channel to see forthcoming programs.

Press on the channel you are interested in and another page will open up showing the full days programs on that channel and at the top it should say Today v where you can also select the day.

I'd suggest this is your assumption rather than any design specification originating within Sky.  The current Go app is descended from the now deceased Q app, not from Sky+
