Help required setting up series link on Sky Go

Hi,

I am currently migrating to Sky Q from Virgin Media, and am having problems with functionality and useability.

I wish to use my mobile to set up a series link for the start of series 6 of the Good Doctor. On the Sky Go app, when I search I can only find series 1 to 5. When I look in the TV guide in the app, I can't see how to find programs in following days, or even for this evening.

How can I find the program I want and set up a series link?

How can I tell it to only record newly  broadcast programs?

How can I see when a program was broadcast for the first time (so that I can tell if I've already seen it)?

TIA

Hi @elkay62  i just checked on the sky go app and if you search for the good doctor,then click "on this week" when it brings up the results from your seach,you will see series 6 episode 1 listed in there and you can click to set it to record.

It will ask if you want to record it once on your box or record series

With regards to seeing further in the tvguide,click on the channel that you want to see and you will see a drop down menu at the top where you can choose the days of the week or for just later in the same day,click on the channel and you can scroll down for the days schedule.

Re: Help required setting up series link on Sky Go

Thanks @mc321, I don't know how I missed that, I had seen series 2 & 3 episodes but didn't see the series 6 one.

As a bonus question, is it possibly to change the view of the TV guide to remove the images? On my VM app, I can see 12 programs on the screen at once, and it is easy to scroll down the channels, or to the right for later times. On the Sky app, I only see 4-5 programs on the screen, so more scrolling. And I can't scroll to the right to see later times for all the channels on screen, I can only see later times for a selected channel.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

You might find it easier to use the Sky+ app as I prefer this to set recordings and remote downloads.

@caesarome

Thanks, I didn't know the Sky+ app worked for Sky Q boxes. The guide on it is better that that in the SKy Go app. I wonder why they don't provide the same guide functionality in the Sky Go app.

Unfortunately, neither app is a patch on the VM equivalents.
