F1 Subscriber: Can’t watch drivers onboard

I'm a Sky F1 subscriber, when trying to view any of the options under "Race control", it says I need a subscription to watch via most of the options except for "Sky Sports F1".

I have logged out and back in and reinstalled the app... any ideas?

It's not just you, got exactly the same error.

Unless I'm mistaken that's because the Sky Sports + bonus streams require the full Sky Sports subscription ( and the additional F1 bonus streams are provided by the sky sports + service).

At least when the new Sky sports + service launched last summer that was a limitation of it as at the time it didn't have the ability for Sky to be able to hide the bonus streams from sports that you didn't subscribe to through it hence the requirement to have the complete Sky sports package to be able to access any of the bonus streams through it.

Watching F1 last season I was able to veiw all the drivers onboard no problem, even though I'm not a Sky Sports subscriber, has that changed this year?

Well once the sky sports + service launched last summer all the bonus streams were switched to be delivered through that as opposed to the old method that Sky used as far as im aware.

I always thought it was a massive oversight on the part of Sky to have implemented and launched the new system in a way where they had no ability to control which sports were available via the service based on a user's subscription hence the requirement they created for the complete Sky sports package.
