Advice on sky go and Apple TV

Currently I've got sky q and an Apple TV. I've also got HomePod speakers and they work great as sound bars for the Apple TV. Unfortunately the tv is too old to use the HomePods as a sound bar, no arc or Earc. It's a great Sony hd tv and I don't want to replace it just yet.

I was considering using the sky go app on the Apple TV if I got multiscreen turned on, I don't need a mini box, this would allow me to use the HomePods as a sound bar for some sky programming.

Im going to get sky cinema switched off as I'm just out of contract, we rarely watched it and it's not very good. So money saved there could pay for multiscreen.
So the question is the sky go app on Apple TV any good? We would only be using the sky go app for some programmes, for day to day use we would still be using the q box and tv speakers and can you subscribe to multiscreen without getting a mini box?

Re: Advice on sky go and Apple TV

At the moment Sky Go on Apple TV is quite a low quality stream on most channels so not 1080p.  The most it seems to manage is 720p on some sports channels.  Also it doesnt connect to the Sky Q Box so you cant watch the non streaming channels such as BBC or watch recordings.

If you get multiscreen for it I dont think its worth the money.  However I keep it because I managed to get the mini box to work in the other room via power line adapters so im really happy with that.

Sky Go on Apple TV has quite a long way to go before its useful.  Its good on iOS, iPadOS and macOS but very underdeveloped on tvOS which is a massive shame.

Sorry forgot to mention that you can't subscribe without getting a mini box.  I tried and they brought me one regardless.

Thanks I'll hang off until the app improves. I didn't want to get into a contract and be disappointed and be stuck paying for something that was of no use to me.
