Hi getting code PFE 4002 on windows 10 laptop, no vpn or add blocker was working great now starts up blue screen "checking for updates" then crashes, uninstalled it cleared app data, no problems on mobile app

Right click on Sky Go Short cut on the desktop.
Select 'Properties' then 'Compatibility'
Uncheck box ' Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and press OK
Relaunch Sky Go App then retest, if white screen hangs on login box restart PC to Fix.
And:
Right-click on the Sky Go app and click on Compatibility.
Go to change settings for all users at bottom of pop-up.
Check the boxes "Run as administrator" AND the box beneath it "Register this Program for Restart".
Click Apply.
This should take you to a screen where you have to sign into your Sky account.

I too have this issue since last weekend. I've tried the above suggestion with no luck. The app either just shuts down after checking for updates or displays the PFE 4002 error message again.

Has anyone else found a fix?

I have also had this same problem with SKY Go app from a few weeks ago. I have just recently bought a new windows laptop running windows 10 home.
I have also de-registered the laptop from sky account, uninstalled sky go app cleared appdata contents and reinstalled app and now it just checks for app update and few seconds later it closes.
I have spoken to Sky and they have said its a windows problem and cannot help.
Very frustrating.

Its not a windows issue its a sky app issue,
I have set up two brand new virtual machines running windows 7 and windows 10, both clean installs, nothing else installed, sky go app refuses to launch, blank screen and crashes. Run as administrator, same crashes. NOTHING ELSE installed in to windows.

I believe that you are incorrect about it being a Sky problem and not windows.
I have completed a clean install on a windows 10 home laptop and disabled any updates
whatsoever.
After reinstalling the Sky Go app it works perfectly.
There for the conclusion is if the Skyapp was working before the updates but not after it
can only be a problem with the windows updates.
I have spoken to a Sky engineer and they have said it is not a Sky problem.

I've now just developed the same issue and no matter how times this is not a Sky issue, it is.
Mine was working perfectly fine yesterday and now today this error code, no updates from Microsoft, no changes made to my PC.
So the people fondling Sky By saying it's not a Sky issue need to be quiet.
Oh yeah, I have a friend who works for Sky who told me it is actually an issue at their end, but they don't really like to admit it.

I have the same issue on two different laptops, a Dell and a hp. One was on Windows 10, my hp is Windows 11. Up until a few days ago, Sky Go working fine on the hp. Sky updates done automatically and now it won't work. Same issue as everyone else. Extremely frustrating and reason enough to get away from Sky as soon as possible.

18 months later and I'm geeting the same error. Sky go was working. Now it crashes every time. Surely a fix has been devised in the mean time. My query was escalated to Sky Go apps team on Dec 23 and still no reply 5 days later. Poor service and I'm looking for compensation. Sky Go is part of my package which I did use daily!!!

Imagine its 10 months later to the last reply and this error still exists. They need to fix this issue. Done all the suggested fixes and no hope. it worked once and now just crashes everytime.
