@Leeds2007

As repeated many times in this forum, that's the expected behaviour.  Go does not support HDMI output from phone or tablet: if it was doing so previously then that would have been in error.

Re: External output blocked

Why am I getting the message saying external playback not supported when trying to watch cricket on my mobile. Please help.

Re: External output blocked

Nobody here is trying to use HDMI output. The error is reported erroneously just when using the phone or tablet normally. Seems so many people (and Sky) cannot grasp that simple fact...

Re: External output blocked

Same reason we all are. Sky not prepared to sort the issue. But I'm sure someone will helpfully post about not being allowed to cast. To be clear, we know the rule, we are just trying to watch our paid Sky subscription on our bloody mobiles..!!!

Re: External output blocked

Getting the same message on Google pixel 6a. It has worked fine up until two days ago. Spoke to Google who don't have a clue how to solve. I am just trying to watch on phone and have no intention of mirroring or connecting to a TV.

Re: External output blocked

Getting the same on my S8 Tablet while using Samsung DEX (I have a blootooth keyboard connected to it which gives it kind of a PC feeling apps, webpages etc.). However if I switch DEX off and try to watch in normal tablet mode, works just fine.

Hope this helps anyone with similar issue.

Re: External output blocked

I have watched sky go for years and NEVER had this "external output blocked by sky" message until today. Was trying to watch the football on my samsung S6 tablet while watching the snooker on my TV, and keep getting this message all day now. Just want to watch what I've paid for. Getting blocked in Sky go app AND sky sports app. Need answers on how to fix please?

As the apps are now behaving in the way they are supposed to do, there is no 'fix'.

If by the above you mean prevents viewing Sky on your mobile phone screen in the UK with no remote casting whatsoever, then yes Sky have excelled. 👋

I'm still struggling to comprehend how my mobile phone screen is an external output. Last time I checked, it was very much integral to the device.
