Turning over to a different channel

Why is it, every time I change over to other channels it's always asking for a PIN number when I haven't set up a PIN number . It's  really starting to annoy me as I am missing the beginning of the program 😡

That shouldn't happen 'every time' but will occur when the channel being turned-to is carrying content which could otherwise only be broadcast after the watershed: this is called Mandatory Daytime Protection and is required by Ofcom in the Broadcasting Code.

Sky Atlantic, Sky Documentaries, Sky Comedy and many of the Sky Cinema channels are the ones this tends to affect.

MDP is non-negotiable and cannot be removed by users even when all other content control is switched off.
