Re: Sky soundbox v Sky glass tv sound
Hi @Peter17
Sky Glass and Glass Gen 2, sound is one of the far better features. But the Sky Sound Box is still a capable bit of kit. I still use mine in the man cave. But Glass has more up to date protocols and features such as Dolby Atoms where the sound box is only Dolby plus.
If you are happy with your TV and soundbox you can get a Sky Puck to work with it. See: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/setting-up-sky-soundbox-sky-stream-puck

55" Gen 2 Sky Glass atlantic blue, 65” Sky Glass ocean blue, Sky Live, 4 streaming pucks and EE FTTP Busiest Home (circa 1.6 Gbps download). Sky SoundBox. Former Sky Q, Sky+ HD and Sky+ customer. Sky Mobile Customer.

The Soundbox has more enclosure space, more (and larger) drivers and covers more directions (apart from upwards) plus it was designed by a reputable audio specialist.
Glass is intended to be 'better than the average television', not to compete with (most) external audio sources. There are fundamental limits to what can be achieved within the dimensions of any reasonably sized TV chassis.
