Sky glass streaming issue with 5g broadband hub

We have a basic broadband speed so thought we could use our  EE 5g hub to stream sky glass tv but the EE hub is not compatible with sky glass or any gaming consoles. Does anyone successfully use another 5g broadband hub to stream tv? Or is it all 5g hubs that have this issue?

I seem to recall from previous posts that 5G routers can be problematic with Glass/Stream due to the inherent instability of a 5G data signal compared to a fixed fibre line.

What speed can you receive via 5G to your mobile devices?

Sky Glass and Sky Stream are entirely reliant on a fast, and more importantly, stable broadband connection to function. Any interruption or speed fluctuation can send them into a tizzy.

You may perhaps be better off with Sky Q or, if streaming is the only option, NOW TV for Sky programming.

Re: Sky glass streaming issue with 5g broadband hub

try this... Some Sky customers have reported on this community that they have resolved different issues using Sky by changing the router to an IPV4 address, so I would recommend giving it a try.

You can do so by accessing the admin page at 192.168.1.1 login using your admin password which if you are unsure of should be on your Keep me card, or the bottom of the router/under the back cover depending on your model of router.

Then select Setup>Profile management, you will have an existing profile there, create a new one with the exact same details as the current one except change IP Type to IPV4 then set this new profile as default once saved.
