Sky glass playlist
Can someone help me out please. There was a film on channel 4 last night which was on late, so I put it in my playlist. I went to watch it this morning but it tried to sign me into paramount with a monthly subscription. On my old Sky I could have just recorded it. I would appreciate if anyone could advise?

Re: Sky glass playlist
@Martin333 This is one of the drawbacks of glass
film 4 in this case would only have the as live rights
adding things to playlist see the program being played back from whichever service owns the on demand rights in this case paramount plus and you would need to subscribe to watch via playlist there isn't an alternative
the same applies to watching a film or sports event on sky showcase for example (where the rights are with sky sports or sky cinema)

Re: Sky glass playlist
Rather than a drawback it is consequence of content creators starting to regain control of their creations🤔
@Martin333 you should complain to Channel 4 that they are not obtaining Streaming rights😉

Re: Sky glass playlist
Ultimately this will either become more common as over the next 5 years the move to streaming becomes the new norm, or the broadcasters like C4 and ITV will start to include more streaming rights (typically 30 days) as part of renegotiating rights for films.
i think this may end up depending on who owns the rights for the film. To be honest it makes perfect sense for paramount to exclusively allow the on-demand rights to be on their own streaming service to encourage customers to sign up to it.
