Sky glass gen 2 WiFi dropping each night
So I bought a new sky glass gen 2 TV.
connected up day one worked fine no issues was connected via WiFi.
day 2 turned TV to be met with a message saying no internet and click the home button on the remote to refresh the device. After the 10 time doing this it still did not work (I had a very similar issue with my sky puck when they first came out). Went into the settings and restarted the WiFi connection added the WiFi details back in and it's all back. Thought oh well just a blip.
day 3 same again!!
day 4 same again - so turned off the WiFi and used the Ethernet connection.
day 5 same again!!!! - read here that someone said unplug the tv and hold the power button down plug the tv back in holding the power button and release when you see the sky logo (this factory resets the TV). Done this didn't get the sky logo but it did factory reset TV. Now this is where the issue was (the ethernet was still connected) long story short you have to unplug the Ethernet otherwise the TV will not connect to the WiFi this took me 45 mins to work out!!!!! So after trying to connect the TV to my router I tried to hotspot my phone which did work but was super slow in downloading a new OS update for the TV. So done it all again connected to the WiFi (ethernet unplugged) connected to WiFi downloaded updated OS. Went into the settings turned off WiFi again and plugged the Ethernet back in. All worked happy again.
day6 TV worked fine.
day 7 lost internet again pushed the home button as instructed on screen and TV came to life! So let's see what tomorrow brings.
this is 100% an OS issue it's like the tv forgets the network card and you have to refresh the system to see it again. This really shouldn't happen and sky really need to update the OS but yet again they will not do anything as it can be resolved by us!!!

Re: Sky glass gen 2 WiFi dropping each night
I get the same. I think the equipment is sub standard. I gave a puck which works pretty much perfectly. The sky Glass tv though is constantly complaining about internet event though it's about 2 meters from the router and I have a stable 1gb connection.
if I had a pound for every time I had to reset the thing I'd be a rich man.
Im now investigating whether a refund is possible under the CCA.

Re: Sky glass gen 2 WiFi dropping each night
Not sure if either of you have made these recommended settings changes;
Set Network standby mode to ON and Overnight power saving to OFF
Turn wifi OFF under Network if connected via ethernet.
Make sure after doing so, you then perform a settings restart, to ensure the option is set correctly.
Plus, it's not recommended to do a factory reset on a Sky Glass TV or puck, unless Sky have asked you to, and you are on a chat or call with Sky, as doing so can cause some back end account issues, that only Sky can address.
