Sky Glass TV starting again - with a puck or sky Q

Just trying to work out the best way to have Sky in two rooms.

We have a sky glass TV in the dining room but no subscription to Sky at the moment - couldn't get on with glass at all so have been with Virgin.

Looking to move back to Sky and was wondering whether I should go for

1. Sky Q for my lounge TV with multiroom option so I can hopefully use it with my Sky Glass in the dining room.  This would probably be my preferred option as I really like the recording ability and didn't get on with glass however,  I think its probably going to be discontinued so maybe not a great idea and also have heard or issues with people running Sky Q on a Sky Glass TV

2.  Get a puck ( or  would I need 2) and have the sky glass up and running in the dining room (not used often) but I assume this would mean we could get the same facility on the TV in the lounge.  I'm not a fan of glass but my Virgin media is just the same type of streaming so if I am going back to a streamed service is it best to incorporate the glass TV

Thanks in advance for any advice

Helen

Hi @Helenc25

You wouldn't need two pucks as they are the same as glass but just for use on a TV. You would need whole home to re enable glass and get a puck. If you choose to get Q you can get it working with glass however you need to complete the steps outlined here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/connect-q-to-glass

You can record to cloud on glass and Stream however you get sent to catch up services for broadcasters with them (such as BBC and ITV). You don't say why you didn't get on with it, but you you record live TV a lot, Q would be a  better option for you. The satellites are active until circa 2030 so still a good few years life in the service yet.
