Loss of hands free voice control

Morning of 9 June my tv couldn't find my router, I had internet service. I rebooted and got full service. Later in the day my TV wouldn't turn on, so I rebooted it AGAIN. My TV started to work but not the voice control. I checked the button on the side of my tv and it won't switch on.

what's wrong?

was there a system update that could have caused it.

This has helped me previously when the voice control stopped working on my glas. although I'm not sure if it's the same issue you are experiencing 

Switch tv to standby (either with remote, or with button on side of set)

Switch off at plug

Switch on at plug (no waiting necessary)

When red standby light comes on, press Home button on remote.
