Considering sky glass

I have recently subscribed to sky and got two pucks. If I get sky glass do I need to get the subscription too or can I just plug my spare puck in to the television and only buy the television?

@Chelly1

Your current Whole Home subscription would cover the Glass television set too.

Hi @Chelly1 and welcome to the forum.

If you purchase a Sky glass you do not have to connect a puck to it as it is included inside the TV.  As you already have 2 pucks I assume you have a whole home subscription in which case your Glass TV would be included in the whole home.

Just a personal opinion but I had a Glass Gen 1 but I sold it a couple of years ago and moved to an Samsung OLED TV and soundbar with a Sky stream puck and found it so much better.  The picture quality is outstanding and I don't even have the Sky UHD add-on package.

Re: Considering sky glass

Unless you actually need a new TV then it's pointless looking into it but if you are looking for something new and are committed to the Sky ecosystem then a Gen2 model is a reasonable option.

The Gen2 is far superior to the Gen1 but a decent OLED with a puck is better.

I recommend not buying on a whim but fully investigate alternatives.

If monthly payments is a requirement then Sky do offer favourable repayment schemes.

Re: Considering sky glass

I bought Sky Glass, Gen 2 and moved my OLED into another part of the house, my family are more than happy with the picture quality and the sound, as it is brighter than the OLED.

I am not saying it is better than an OLED tv, but the difference is minimal, in my opinion, but do your own research.

Currys have SKY Glass on display, if it helps.
