volume rises and won't stop

I keep pressing the volume button slightly up or down on sky glass and the volume uncontrollable shots to max or min.    200am and my TV has just woke the neighbour up because I turned the volume up slightly and it blasted to 100 percent and then froze. I couldn't even stand by the TV to turn it off  I

had to unplug it      this is the fifth time in two days it's done this.    first time at this time in the morning though     what's going on with sky glass it's getting worse and worse.

@badgerz  Try to pair the remote again as follows:

  1. Press 7 and 9 together on your Sky remote for three seconds (This resets/clears the remote)
  2. Press 1 and 3 together for three seconds (bluetooth mode).  A connected message should appear on your screen, press continue and it's all done.

If the problem persists have a look at the links below are to remote troubleshooting guides:

You could also try holding the remote at both ends and giving it a gentle twist as though you were wringing out a cloth.  Even though it sounds an unlikely solution it has got many faulty remotes working again (including my own).

If none of the above help then I would request a replacement at the following link: Streaming TV replacement remote

If you have one available you can use a Sky Q remote while you wait for a replacement to arrive (they work fine in fact I use one as a secondary remote).

Re: volume rises and won't stop

thanks for that, I've tried all what you suggested and the seven and nine reset worked ( I had star trek vibes then when I said seven and nine lol)    thank you for your help.   I never thought it could be the remote going out of sync.  usually when it's out of sync it makes the guide skittish.    this was a new symptom  😁
