If no activity it will display an on screen message and you need to dismiss it with your remote. The message on screen is rather brief and can easily be missed.
However if you are confident that it is just turning off while watching without any prompt, you will need to contact sky customer services and ask for a replacement unit under warranty as we are mainly fellow subscribers here.
