You need to have an active streaming account to add Glass to. See: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/buying-sky-glass-second-hand
You can't have two accounts at the same address. Sky will need to cease your Q subscription and then set you up with a streaming account which you can then add the TV too.
Have they set you up a streaming account? Can you see this in my Sky? Has you Q stopped?
The other thing to try is sign in to sky.com and then browse to: https://www.sky.com/productsettings/streaming-tv/activate

I suspect the system is set up so that someone without a current Sky service can acquire a second hand Glass set and add a content subscription. I don't think it's intended to be a method of moving from Q to Glass: that's supposed to happen with a television purchase from Sky.

Im not 100% sure but you will need to call sky to switch your contract from q to sky stream. Once activated and you have received your sky stream device you will need to add the whole home subscription. You would then be able to activate your glass tv onto your account.
any other method would need to be discussed with sky in a phone call

Once you have phoned sky and switched to streaming your sky q equipment we need to be sent back and your sky stream we be ready to activate has soon as you receive the puck and subscribe to the whole home you can activate the sky glass, bear in mind that streaming does not record programmes and many recordings on sky q will be lost as they will not transfer over and was the sky glass tv put back to factory reset ?

I have a puck which came with the second hand sky glass TV. I explained briefy to the customer service lady when she called me just now what you have all said about coming off sky Q first then setting up sky stream and she seems to think that shouldnt be the issue but shes going to call me back in a minute with hopwfully an answer to that.
Yes the TV we reset whilst i was on the phone to her but once we got to the part where it gives you the activation code on the sky glass tv we cant go any further as i dont have authority to the activate pagre..presumably becasue im still on sky Q so cant activate the tv to my account until im set up with stream, by what your all sying.
Yes they did make me aware that i would loose my ability to record when i move to skyglass, however im currently running the sky q box through a hdmi cable to the back ot the glass tv and can access all areas of my sky Q subscription, when its cancelled and i move to sky i can still access the recording on my sky Q box apparently but ill cross that bridge later, im not to botherd if i do loose them ive been watching the ones i dont want to loose over the past week, just incase.

No: once the Q box receives an end of subscription signal, all access will cease.

Possibly but the box becomes inoperable

Ah right fair enough. I've made a list of the ones I've not managed to watch so I can try and find them on glass. But at this rate I won't be switching across and I've been passed feom
dept to dept because I have the TV already 🙄 she then said it can be done but I have to have a puck I can't use the one the seller gave me that came with his tv as it's linked to his account apparently so I have to pay £39 for a puck so they can link my account to it or something. I'm still on home 1.5hrs later having gone to 4 different departments and they all saying 'oh I have to transfer you to the streaming debt' and then they say oh sorry I have to transfer you to 'the cancellation dept' honestly they don't seem to have a clue when someone wants to end sky Q and move over to Sky Glass 😓

...and you'll have to return it, anyway.

He's just said it will work until I receive the puck and activate the tv into my account stream then the box won't work nor will the recordings. Like you said.
they have cancelled my sky Q account set me up with a new sky glass streaming account which I need to activate when the new puck comes and the only way to be able to link the second hand glass tv to my account is via a puck so I had to buy a puck and then got a free one to use on a smart tv I have upstairs. Ordinarily if I brought the sky glass tv and the streaming together from sky I wouldn't have to connect a puck to the main sky glass tv as it's all built in. That's the only way around it at present, for those in the future reading this thread.
Hopefully this helps other customers in the future and avoids a 2 day constant back and forwards with sky customer services palaver! 🫠

Don't forget you will be needing to pay an extra £13 per month for the whole home multi room pack to be able to use multiple devices at home. The good news is once your first puck is activated you can then straight away add the glass to your account via the online activation (which is instant)

Yeah I've got that put into my new subscription like I had with my sky Q
