Hi - I have a first gen Sky Glass TV but do not subscribe to Sky anymore, so am using it as a Smart TV. Yesterday on the aerial app I was able to access the terrestrial channels in HD. Today, these are no longer available on the TV guide (they seem to have been removed - channels 101, 102, 103, 104 etc, so BB1, BBC2, ITV and Channel 4 etc). The non-HD versions are still available. I have tried the re-tune, but no change and these channels are still missing. Is this a deliberat move on the part Sky? It feels vindictive, if so, and anti-competetive or am I missing something?
Grateful for any advice!

Hi - I have an 8 way amplifier, which I have just switched over a couple of leads on (don't use all of the aerial sockets). I have just retuned after doing that and the channels are back!
Mnay thanks for your help - never would have thought at looking at the amplifier as the problem.

Re: Where have the terrestrial HD Channels gone on the Aerial App for Sky Glass TV?
@Peter284 Just checking that it wasn't ended yesterday and that you'd simply lost the use of the TV guide function.
How were you normally seeing these channels? Was it only via their apps like iPlayer, ITVX etc? The information I've found online seems to suggest this is the only way to view these channels on Glass without a Sky subscription.
As I've not run Glass without a subscription I really don't know how accurate that information is.

Re: Where have the terrestrial HD Channels gone on the Aerial App for Sky Glass TV?
Hi - all channels (including the HD ones) were available on the aerial app using the Sky remote (accessed from the home page with the aerial icon). This worked well for many months - until today, when they seem to have been removed.

@Peter284 I think you may need to bite the bullet and use the Contact Us option in the forum footer to ask Sky directly about this. Sorry I couldn't help further.

Are you getting any kind of pixelation on any other channels. If so it's probably a problem with your aerial, the HD pictures seem to suffer most with a low signal. But you can still access the hd channels via the built in apps. Not as convenient, but it's a work around.

Re: Where have the terrestrial HD Channels gone on the Aerial App for Sky Glass TV?
Hi - can't access the hd channels via the other apps, as I do not have a Sky subsciption any longer. There is no other pixelation and the aerial is working well (I get all the terrestrial channels via the aerial, but not the HD versions, which were all working fine yesterday, but have disappeared from the TV guide today).

Providing your Sky account is still active (and the Tv registered against it) even without a TV subscription you can still use the apps and watch the live streams through apps like ITV X and BBC IPlayer.

Re: Where have the terrestrial HD Channels gone on the Aerial App for Sky Glass TV?
Hi - yes, I am aware of that (and indeed watching the Wimbledon coverage on iplayer). However, it is not as convenient and easy to use as the aerial, which should be working for HD freeview channels (and was yesterday, but not today). As well as being less convenient, the aerial of course also works when the internet isn't. I am a bit concerned that this is deliberate by Sky to try to drive subscription, which is anti-competitive and possibley against the Consumer Rights Act 2015, as it is not "fit for purpose". I have contacted Sky about this and awiat their response (just had the acknowledgement).

Giant corporations do tend to employ buildings full of lawyers to scrutinise such things....

I can't see how Sky can block anything coming via, what is basically, a bog standard Freeview tuner. It could the atmospheric conditions giving issues, ie high pressure, which is quite common. If that is the case the channels will reappear when conditions improve. But as you've already retuned, you'll have to keep retuning on a daily basis.

Pretty sure you're right. It's just a conspiracy theory.

Re: Where have the terrestrial HD Channels gone on the Aerial App for Sky Glass TV?
Well, it's funny that literally all the other TV's in the house (all connected to the same aerial) have full access to all HD channels (as did the Sky Glass until yesterday). That definitely rules out "atmospheric conditions". Also, respectfully, this is no conspiracy theory - these channels have disappeared from the menu and Sky do have the means to block these with their softward updates (indeed, it was a softward update, after pressure from consumer groups as I understand it) that enabled you to access channels via the aerial without switching off your internet first.
Regardless, I have rasied the issue with Sky and will see what they have to say. The point is that they advertised (and still do advertise) the Sky Glass as an HD TV, which it no longer is for me. That being the case, I think there is a case to answer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which allows for complaints to be made for up to 6 years after purchase if a product is not living up to its' advertise purpose.
Thanks for your help.
