When I called, was told that the system doesn't recognise my phone number. I have no other number. M

I need to speak to a human to figure out why I can't switch on my sky box. I have rebooted, changed batteries and pressed all the buttons on the remote as instructed without any result. 

I addition, I don't know which sky service I have, which complicates things further. All I know is that I pay for a service and am currently unable to use the TV, but am unable to resolve the issue myself. How am I supposed to know whether it's the remote or the box that is the problem? I am not a technician! 

Every time I have phoned, I was told by a machine that the system does not recognise my phone number, which is working and for which  I am debited every month. Please contact me on this number so that this issue can be resolved.

@NR59  This is a public customer help customer forum so you are not actually addressing Sky.  In order to get you some help from Sky I have escalated your post to the Community Messaging team who will invite you to an online chat.

Keep a look out for the speech chat bubble that will appear on the bottom left of your screen when you are logged onto this forum (you will need to refresh your browser from time to time otherwise you might not see the chat bubble). When the blue bubble does appear you have 48 hours to respond or the chat will be automatically closed.  Note replies from Sky are not instant so you will need to regularly check the chat thread.

This is what I do and you could try it  ring sky and do the normal  bit, when it says  we have you a link would you like to use it say no. It should  then ask you  if  you  are the account holder, and for your  password, this then gets  you an advisor, it always has  worked for me, hope this helps
