Viaplay on Sky Glass, is sky going to make this available in UK. Apparently it’s available in ROI.

Anyone aware if sky are going to put the viaplay app on their system?

similarly Apple Airplay.

seems crazy not to have these. 
I know there are work around with e.g Airplay devices / or viaplay via Amazon but seems daft to have to use HDMI to stream. 
Does viaplay work on Glass in the Republic of Ireland?, if so it should be easy to push out to UK subscribers.

We are all customers here. Sky don't publish their plans in advance. However ViaPlay has left the UK market and Primer Sports has baught them out. See:

So things are up in the air with them as a broadcaster, but there would need to be a deal between Primer Sports and Sky, Sky cannot act unilaterally.

As @mikealanr indicates, at the end of this past week Viaplay is just barely afloat.

As for AirPlay, it's not entirely straightforward to assume that Comcast really wants Apple technology in its product.

thanks for the reply. Dont know much about comcast, other than they bought sky-  interesting but still puzzled by lack of Airplay.

just used to TVs connecting to both apple and android , seems very backward not to do both now. (Samsung etc have no issues) 

imagine a lot of sky customers use Sky and would want to use Airplay. 
Nearly didnt get glass because of lack of Airplay.

November 2022 when Premier Sports changed  to Viaplay Sports in UK

It remained as Premier Sports in Republic of Ireland

Premier Sports 1 and 2 channels are on Sky EPG in Republic

Premier Sports Ireland still exist

Premier Sports Ireland is still a separate operation in Republic of Ireland to Viaplay in UK

On 28 November 2022 the channels split, with the Irish feeds reverting to full Premier Sports branding

Due to this we also get access to the broadcasts that happen on Viaplay Channels 1/2 in UK

We see Viaplay logo on screen for UK Viaplay broadcasts and Premiersports logo for Premier Sports Irish broadcasts. 

Sky EPG in Republic of Ireland will still list as Premier Sports 1 and Premier Sports 2 even though some of the broadcasts are from Viaplay in UK

Republic of Ireland only

Premier Sports Ireland has broadcast rights to premier league matches that Amazon get in UK

Also Saturday premier league 3PM matches

FA Cup broadcast rights

International football matches 

Also other sports rights

Republic of Ireland only

Sports Extra Subscription is TNT Sports and Premier Sports
