Very green/turquoise colours instead of blue or black

We've had our sky glass about 3 months and since the start some programmes (but not all) show very green colours instead of blue or black. Even the actors eyes glow turquoise instead of white. I spoke to sky tech support last week and the guy agreed it didn't look right but said he needed to get advice from his supervisor and made arrangement to call me back the next day but never did.

Re: Very green/turquoise colours instead of blue or black

I'm finding something similar when watching all of the FBI shows.

Whites of eyes teal colour, lots of clothing is the same colour.

Even like you say some of what may well be black is teal/turquoise.

Is it the TV or the programme?

Re: Very green/turquoise colours instead of blue or black

I spoke to Sky tech support several times at length. They remotely checked all our tv settings and could not find any errors. I have found that the three different FBI shows all give the same green colouring instead of blues and blacks, when played on demand from box sets, but if you find the show being shown on live tv then the colour is normal. We watch numerous different US shows on box sets and very few others have issues so I'm guessing it must be down to this particular programme. Sky did suggest that if the problem persists they might have to replace the tv set but I'm yet to take them up on that. Would be interested if others could watch some of the FBI episodes and report here what they find with the colour.

Yes....it would be interesting to know.

I'm sure it's only these series that it happens with...and I do watch them all on demand.

Blue light series also does the same and yes so do the fbi series, the problem is the streaming I think, as it doesn't happen with other series.

I have noticed the same issue with watching Blue Lights Season 2 on BBC iPlayer on a Fire Stick. Also had the issue when watching a film on Netflix. Never noticed this before and haven't seen it on anything else yet ! Must be a streaming issue. Hoping its not my TV

Hi all,

Thanks for sharing your experience on Sky Community 🙂

If anyone is still experiencing this issue can you send over a picture of this happening?

Thanks,

Re: Very green/turquoise colours instead of blue or black

Sky told me they were aware of the issue and would sort it out on the next tv software update.

Re: Very green/turquoise colours instead of blue or black

Have had my 55" Glass for 7 months. We have the turquoise/blue/teal issue from day 1. All or most of the American programs. Currently watching Chicago Med...dreadful. Tried and tried to get better colour but my HiSense tv in another room that cost only £379 is far superior. Very disappointed in the Glass...

Re: Very green/turquoise colours instead of blue or black

I've now resolved this on my sky glass TV by cancelling UHD. Colours are now true again. I think someone previously suggested reinstalling it but I  haven't tried that. I'm happy to watch on standard HD and save £6 a month.

Re: Very green/turquoise colours instead of blue or black

Same problem. Had suspected it was UHD and/or Dolby Atmos causing it as it only happens with Netflix,  AppleTV +,  Sky Atlantic and Arts and BBC iPlayer UHD programmes. Although, curiously, when it occurs it then affects some (but not all) other programmes on some other channels until I turn off the TV and switch back on.

Re: Very green/turquoise colours instead of blue or black

Hi,

New to this forum. Found it when searching for a solution to the excessive cyan/ green/turquoise problem on Sky Glass. Attached, picture of my best (worst) example on Sky Atlantic (Gilded Age). I am sure the jackets should be black.

This seems to be happening on Netflix, Apple TV+ and Sky Atlantic & Comedy when the programmes are in UHD / Dolby Atmos. But I may be misleading.

Apologies if this thread has now closed.

Re: Very green/turquoise colours instead of blue or black

I don't have the UHD as with Glass you're not supposed to need it so goodness knows 😬

Re: Very green/turquoise colours instead of blue or black

Delete the UHD subscription from your sky account and then it should be fine. You'll also save £6 a month! Others have suggested reinstalling it but I've not tried that I'm happy to save some money!!
