Hello.
I am unable to slide open my sky tv glass remote control to change the battries.
As anyone else had trouble opening up their sky tv glass remote control?
And any tips pls?

Are the batteries definitely dead or could the remote be faulty? I had one which flashed up the low battery warning on-screen for over 6 months with fresh batteries in it so you can take it with a pinch of salt.
Also, try giving the remote a firm twist as if you were wringing out a cloth - this can sometimes bring it back to life.

They back can be very stiff at first. Try lying the remote face down on a cushion or face down in your hand, with the two dots closest to you, and push the back away from you.

Thank you all for your responses.

I have found an easy way to open the remote .......
Take 2 large lumps of Blu-Tak.
Hold one on the front and one on the back.
Push in the direction shown by the arrow.. Simples. 😀👍

Tried one more time and surprisingly it opened ., They need to design this remote better , not good for people with arthritis in their hands .

It is an utterly ridiculous design that is completely unnecessarily difficult to open in my opinion. I have been trying over 15 minutes now and still hasn't opened. Not impressed at all sky!

I find holding the remote at both ends with the buttons down and my thumbs on top and then applying pressure and pushing with one thumb and pulling with the other in the direction of the arrow is sufficient to remove the cover. Note the back only moves a few millimetres and can then be lifted off.
A number of people have found that wearing rubber kitchen gloves helps to give more purchase on the plastic components.

Previous versions tended to fracture at the latch point, which is probably the reason for the change for a sliding design.
