Tv wont turn on everytime its been off for a while
so i have 65" sky glass tv 30 months old out of warranty
tv works fine and works all day till turned off on a night
for me to start it on a morning i have to do a hard reset hold the turn it off at the plug and hold the standby button and turn back on this works after a while
been on phone to sky support number of times
done everything they have advised, change sockets restart interet etc, there sending me a new power cable but my tv has never moved due to the size since ive had it
they say i have a power fault and need to buy a new tv as i am out of warranty after going through there checks
this doesnt make sense as the tv works fine i dont have £540 for a new TV
i feel i am been led wrong here
i have had my tv on today all fine no issue
when the tv wont turn on i can clearly see power to it as the mic button at the side is lit up but neither the remote or standby button will turn it on unless i do a hard restart
one thing sky advisor told me was i should have a red light for standby in the middle of the tv i can see where it should be but ever since i got the tv this has not work could i have had a faulty tv from the start?
i aslo asked if i purchased a ned tv at £540 would i get a new warranty as this could happen again the advisor told me they did not know, crazy?
has anyone else had these issues?

Have you tried adjusting your settings:
In settings > startup and standby > turn ON networked standby mode and turn OFF overnight power saving.

I had this with my 2nd glass amongst other issues,I ended up turning it off at the socket every time, that solved it.

Exactly the same issue here and apparely others are suffering with same problem. It seems to have come after a overnight software update. I have to hard reset every time the tv has been off for a lengthy time then it works absolutely fine until I turn it off again

Having the same issue here. Works fine after a hard reset but the standby LED turns off over night and then the TV won't turn back on. I've tried turning off overnight standby but doesn't seem to fix the issue. Wonder if the TV updates when in standby and the update is breaking things?

Hi, Im having the exact same issue with my Sky Glass TV that is aorund 2 1/2 years old, Absolute nightmare, been asked to do all the same as you, including picking it up and plugging it in, in another room, As if its that easy!
Currently in fights for where to go next, Im not paying for a new TV, seems that the TV wasnt on the latest software but my upstairs puc is 100% fine, so definitly not a me problem!
Funny thing is they keep telling me in the only one and they have never heard of this issue before!
Hope you get it resolved.

has anyonr got anyhwere in terms of getting an answer of sky?
there telling me its a power issue and need a new TV but i think its more of a software issue as the TV works?

I'm currently in dispute with them about this, they have escalated to the business management team and are asking for a fix/what to do next, I've got a feeling it's going to be a long task of getting a resolve from them, but I will not be paying for a new television as it is certainly a faulty product.

I can't rely on sky for any sort of resolution as ours was a second hand set. But it was working fine until the other week, seemingly when others experienced the same issue. Which leads me to believe it's software driven.

It's 100% software driven. I set the TV up last night, not linked to a sky account. Didn't run the update requested. And it turned on fine when I got home today. Sky has some answering to do!!

@nbwnbw17 Have you been back in touch? We aren't getting anywhere with them, different answers from different people nobody seems to have a clue!

Have you been back in touch? We aren't getting anywhere with sky they won't confirm it's a software issue but surely what you have done proves it?

i rang sky again last night again and they have said its becoming apparent its affecting a few people now and a known issue
i hope they didnt fob me off but been told it is a software issue and will be fixed soon when they do there next update
so been told to try and hang on a bit longer
just hope this is the case
maybe try ring them too see if they say the same now?

Hi. We are having the same problem getting really p###ed off now even considered getting a new tv ! They told us after countless phone calls and reset steps to go through that it is a problem with our tv! Would have to pay £100 for an engineer as out of warranty or new tv I told them neither of them is an option! They won't even let me cancel sky as still paying for tv ! These guys are a bunch of charletons! We suspected it was a software issue as we get it every time we eventually get it switched on although I can't even get it past the setup stage now! Does anyone know when they are updating this software again! Had enough now the whole family is so stressed !!!

I have the exact same problem and have been told the same as you, one advisor told me to take an extended warranty then make a claim which I haven't as didn't give me details on how to do so, mine was the 65" had for just over 3 years. Very disappointing
