Trying to watch a program on sky glass without stuttering

New to sky glass but gave up trying to watch tv last night as kept stopping and getting error messages and try again!!

is it that the broadband can't cope ??? Even when we turned off all other devices we couldn't watch a program without the pink circle whirring away!
should we go back to skyQ

What broadband speed is reaching your Glass TV? To find out, open the Netflix app, navigate to the get help menu and run a network check. You need a sustained minimum of 25Mbps for any form of stability on Sky Glass.

Re: Trying to watch a program on sky glass without stuttering

At the moment it's saying 29.79 but last night after 9pm the tv had frozen we couldn't have done this check as Netflix wouldn't even load! So what is the answer?

That speed is borderline for allowing Glass to function reliably I'm afraid.

All apps are stored on Sky's servers, not on the TV itself, so any speed fluctuation or interruption in connection can and will cause issues.

You could try connecting to your router via an ethernet cable and turning WiFi off on the Glass network settings. This will help mitigate against interference, but if your broadband can't go much faster then you may continue to have an interrupted service.

If your broadband speed and quality can't be improved then you are probably better on Sky Q.

We are on best broadband available but would Wi-Fi max help?

What speed are you supposed to get? WiFi Max is just a brand name - it realistically means nothing. There are too many variables in individual households (wall thickness, other devices, etc) to give a definitive answer as to whether WiFi Max would benefit you or not.

Says 56 mb/s min speed guaranteed?

@SGHELP I'd be inclined to try connecting with ethernet first. It's really the more stable way to use Glass and Stream. As mentioned earlier you don't get interference with the signal.

If your router is too far away from the Glass then investing in a pair of Powerline adapters is worth doing.

When I got my first Glass in late 2021 the first week was a nightmare using WiFi. I bought an ethernet cable and it's been pretty straightforward since. My only issues have been down to the firmware issues that have cropped up from time to time.

You are on the verge of the limit that Sky Skyrecomends  as the minimum.

See in another post your broadband speed is around 56Mbps.

Using wifi alongnwith others in your household or other devices being used on your local network, may cause you issues at times with the speed to your Sky Glass.

Would, as suggested above, if you can try using an ethernet cable direct from  your router to the Glass Tv or use a pair  of power line adapters.

Have you checked at all to see if you can change your broadband to a fibre connection from a copper one you have now?
