The tv unexpectedly turns off

Everyday for the past couple of weeks after watching a tv programme for just under an hour it suddenly shuts down (turns off)

It is very frustrating. We have tried turning it off and unplugging the tv and then rebooting but has made no difference. We are very very disappointed with our Sky Glass TV

what can we do now please?

Hi @MiVi-

if your glass is under warranty still (2 years) I would give sky a call to troubleshoot and possible fix / replace under warranty

alsonif you have sky protect insurance this can cover you for a fix / replacement if your set is out of warranty

Hi @MiVi- and welcome to the forum.  I wonder if your problem is simply the over active ECO function of Glass.

If there is no movement of your remote for an hour or so the really annoying and over the top ECO function will turn off your Glass TV (or puck).  A message does appear at the top of the screen telling you that your device will turn off if you don't move your remote (I can't remember the exact wording).  The problem with this message is it is not the for for very long and can be lost in the background of the picture so is easy to miss.

Thank you for your reply. We do know that this message comes up, we are use to it and usually pick up our remote But this doesn't appear before it suddenly goes blank. 🤷‍♀️

Re: The tv unexpectedly turns off

Try setting/Start up and standby and turn all options to off see if that works.

Personally I wouldn't turn all the options off.

For starters it's usually recommended to keep networked standby more ON which will mean your device won't disconnect from the internet and perhaps take a couple of minutes to reconnect every time you turn it back on after it's been in standby for a short while.
